Regional Product Marketing Manager - electronic sensor products – Central Scotland or Bracknell (or Frankfurt area, Germany) - attractive salary and benefits

CLIENT
– one of the world's leading suppliers of sensors, switches, and controls products for a variety of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) applications in the automotive, transportation, medical, aerospace, industrial and consumer businesses with annual revenues exceeding $900 million.
 
ROLE – Regional Product Marketing Manager – reporting to VP/GM, Test & Measurement (US based), this role is responsible for developing a regional product strategy for the test & measurement product portfolio; working with the regional sales team to manage product line performance and to develop targeted growth strategies for the region; and for working with the global product line team to develop regionally appropriate long-term product strategies – responsibilities include:-

* Regional Strategy Development. In support of the Global VP/GM, develop regional product strategies in support of the strategic plan and annual operating plan
o Generate forecast assumptions, early product forecast to guide team and management decision making
o Define the market, key competitors, customer buying process and appropriate customer segments
o Identify marketing opportunities by identifying customer requirements; defining market, competitor's share, and competitor's strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business.

* Product Line Business Performance. Establish annual product line business plan (revenue and op income); and ensure business execution to meet or exceed annual revenue and operating income targets
o Report on the status of the business in reviews and monthly reports
o Conduct pricing and profitability analysis and implement initiatives to increase profitability

* New Business Opportunity Development. Working with the regional sales leader and team, develop regionally aligned marketing strategies that target new business opportunities; providing support and resources to sales team to identify and close deals.
o Build relationships by meeting with senior executives to discuss their business issues, present best practice solutions and convey the value proposition of products
o Sustain rapport with key growth accounts by making periodic visits; exploring specific needs; anticipating new opportunities

* New Product Development (NPD). Provide insights from marketing visits and sales input to support development of strong business cases for future research and new product development initiative
o Define early product concept/positioning development and refinement
o Collaborating with regional sales and technical staff to clearly define product needs and goals for new and current products

* New Product Introduction (NPI). Work with the Global VP/GM, Marketing and Marketing Communications to support the New Product Introduction process.
o Lead the Stage Gate Process for commercialization of products into the region
o Provide regional sales team with tools and resources to market new products

 PERSON SPEC – higher weighting more important:-    
*        10 - Extensive experience, and successful track record as a Product Marketing manager with electronic sensing products, with management experience
*         10 - Experience of working with multiple customer segments – medical, transportation, etc
*         10 - Strong commercial acumen and negotiating skills - with entrepreneurial flair
*         10 - Qualifications - Electronics, Engineering Marketing, or other relevant degrees - ideally also MBA
*         10 - Highly analytical, with evidence of strong research, problem analysis, judgement and decision making  
*         10 - Excellent communication and presentation skills and good negotiation and persuasion skills 
*         10 – Strong strategic marketing skills - deep understanding and experience with the ability to practically apply, as well as coach others to do so
*         10 - Leadership capability - to lead, motivate, and influence virtual teams towards key business goals, and initiatives and someone who can generate instant credibility both internally and externally
*         10 - Personality - dynamic, self-starter, accountable, assertive, multi-tasker, communicative, respected, resilient, energetic, creative and very driven
*         10 - A broad based, visible and recognized leader, who has successfully utilized contemporary sales and marketing tools and philosophy in leading an organization to higher levels of performance
*         9 – Experience of test &measurement products in a technical role, sales and/or product marketing desired
*         9 - Financial acumen - good appreciation of P&L’s, financial KPIs, and financial modeling
*         9 - Strong Project Management skills with the ability to meet tight deadlines - able to work under pressure and on own initiative  to get things done 
*         9 – Strong MS Office skills
*         8  - Willing to travel globally as required 
*         8 - Experience of working in large matrixed multinational organisation - ideally US
*         8 - Experience of 6 Sigma tools and techniques - green belt/black-belt highly desirable
