NEW PRODUCT RELEASES
======================
1). OMEGA have developed a NEW Mineral Insulated Thermocouple
sheath. The material called Super Omegaclad XL is Nickel-Chrome
based, which provides excellent oxidation and Chlorination resistance.
It can withstand long-term exposure to combustion gases or air at
temperatures up to 1335 Deg C with very little drift of the base metal
thermocouple. This NEW sheath is available in many standard
thermocouple styles with type K or N calibration.
In addition, OMEGA will design and manufacture to suit individual
requirements.

2). RDP Electronics' E725 is the control hub of any stand-alone
measurement system. Combining an 'all-in-one' conditioning unit
for a wide variety of LVDTs, and most strain gauge sensors, with local
data display and network data transmission, the compact E725
provides the power and signal conditioning for the transducer,
interprets the resulting signal and presents the results on its clear
LED display.

3). INTERSECT - The Intelligent Sensing Faraday Partnership
Intersect is the UK focus for the research and application of sensing,
measurement and instrumentation technologies, primarily in the process
and manufacturing industries. Supported by DTI and EPSRC, Intersect
is working to bridge the gap between academic research and industrial
application, enabling novel sensing technologies to be exploited.
Bringing together the UK and European sensing communities it
encourages collaborations and supports the development of industry
supply chains. Intersect is managed by Sira Ltd and the National
Physical Laboratory.
If you would like to receive further information on how to become
involved in Intersect please register your interest through the web site
www.intersect.org.uk or contact Peter Kennell NPL, email
peter.kennel@npl.co.uk or Diane McGraw, Sira Tel: 020 8467 2636
or email: diane.mcgraw@sira.co.uk.

4). TECHNI MEASURE - Latest Newsletter for Autumn
Just out is the latest Newsletter from Techni Measure…
Inside you will find information on their NEW sensing products, a
FREE Formula and Conversion Card, details of 2003 Exhibitions,
What 'Transverse Sensitivity' means, and lots more.

5). From SCENSYS, Free download of new Linux Driver for
IOTECH's PCI and CPCI multifunction DAQ I/O boards.
DaqX-Linux software can now be downloaded from lOtech's web site.
DaqXLinux is a new Linus driver for its popular DaqBoard/2000 (PCI)
and DaqBoard/2000c (CPCI) series of DAQI/O boards.
Designed for use with version 2.4x releases of the Linux kernel
(Debian Gnu/Linux2.4, Redllat Linux 7.x and SuSE 7.x), this driver
addresses the need for an economical "open source" development
platform.

6). ENDEVCO'S Miniature Pressure Transducer, Model 8507C is
designed for installations that do not require threaded mounting,
or locations that are difficult to reach. Its small size (2.3 mm
diameter cylindrical case) permits flush mounting on curved surfaces.
This miniature, high sensitivity piezoresistive pressure transducer
is available in ranges from 1 psi to 15 psi, with full scale output
up to 300 mV.
The transducer provides excellent performance and stability during
temperature transients, using self-contained hybrid temperature
compensation. It also offers excellent linearity (up to 3X range)
and high shock resistance (up to 10,000g's).

7). NOVATECH'S F310 load cell measures axial force and torque
about the same axis. The current design measures 50N axial
combined with 2Nm torque, with a worst case cross talk uncertainty
of less than 0.5%. The F310 was originally developed to replace
a far less accurate system in a Texture Analysis machine.
Texture Analysis can be used in a very wide variety of testing
applications including foods (the crunchiness of biscuits or the
thickness of custard), pharmaceutical (for pills and potions),
cosmetics (lipsticks, powder and paint !).
