Modular Controller
reduces custom controls time.
Finding the right controller to meet your exact
application needs at an affordable price is often
difficult and invariably time consuming.
DeltaSense has solved these problems by introducing
the Cool Man 6 - the building block to your custom
control requirements.
With a range of sensing inputs and control outputs the Cool Man
6
is supplied pre-programmed to your specification. CE approved,
it is supplied in an IP54 rated enclosure or can be left open
framed for integration into your system and comes with a
9 button keypad, 4 character LED display and logo to your
specifications.

New Data Recorders
are adaptable to
most data acquisition applications.
Micro Movements' new Cobra and Viper portable data
recorders offer considerable flexibility in the specification
choice, configuration setup and software versatility.
This allows them to be applied to many different data collection
applications across research and test projects in automotive,
defence, aerospace, agricultural, etc.

Fame Academy Show
hits the high note with B&K.
When BBC reality television programme Fame
Academy decided to have some fun and measure
just how high 23 years old contestant Paris could
sing, they recruited the help of Brüel & Kjær
UK
In a sequence entitled "How High Can He Go", shown
on Fame
Academy extra on BBC THREE, Greenwich born singer Paris
had to sing as high as he possibly could into a Brüel &
Kjær
2260 Investigator Sound Level Meter, in order for a true
measurement to be made of his voice.

LVDTs vital for
'poke-yoke' assembly quality.
RDP Electronics Ltd has recently assisted
Southampton-based B.K. Automation in the
design of a two-station assembly and proofing
machine for a client in the automotive industry.
The machine produces five versions of high-pressure oil pipe
assembly used in turbochargers and relies on highly accurate
measurements to achieve what the Japanese refer to as
'Poke-Yoke' or to 'avoid inadvertent mistakes'.

5).
CORUS cut the cost
of coal processing.
The latest vibration monitoring technology is playing a vital
role
in helping Corus Strip Products UK (CSP UK) cut long term
operating costs, increase uptime and improve safety at its
granulated coal processing plant in Port Talbot, South Wales.
The processing plant is used to prepare coal for injection into
blast furnaces
for iron production and is based around a large coal impacting
(crushing)
system, which is located in a special purpose building. These
crushers
are constructed from two counter-rotating cages, located one
within the
other, and incorporating circumferential striking plates (hammers).
The
cages each weigh approximately 0.75 tonnes and are suspended
from
two overhung shafts, driven via pulleys from electric motors.

6).
Raising the standard.
Thames Side-Maywood is now able to supply the
Series 350 load cell for industrial weighing.
This cost effective, OIML C3 approved shear beam load cell
supersedes the company's successful T62 and T63 load cells.
It features an industry standard configuration and is available
in a comprehensive range of capacities, from 300kg to 5000kg.
In addition to the standard capacities of 500kg, 1000kg, 2000kg
and 5000kg, the Series 350 is available in intermediate capacities
of 300kg, 750kg, 1500kg and 3000kg. This provides a wide
choice for many different weighing applications, including tank
and vessel weighing, bag filling machines and conveyors. The
OIML C3 approval also makes it suitable for use with platform
scales, for sale by weight
