Eddy
current probe driver has 4-20mA
output for direct PLC interface.
The latest ECPD-2 series driver for use with
their range of inductive eddy current proximity probes
has a 2 wire 4-20mA output which will interface directly
with PLCs.
Eddy current probes are used extensively in industry to monitor
rotating shaft alignment on such equipment as pumps, turbines,
centrifuges, etc.
The probe is positioned without making contact with the shaft
but near enough to measure the gap. Any wear in bearings or
other misalignment will be seen by the probe whose output will
change in proportion. This output is applied to the ECPD-2
where it is conditioned and converted to a 4-20mA signal for
direct interface into a PLC. The PLC can then be used to initiate
alarms or control or stop the machinery in order to avoid danger
or prevent damage to personnel or plant equipment.

New compact
Load Cell measures up to 300 Ton.
Even though the new DBCL load cell from Applied
Measurements is a compact design, it has the
capability of measuring up to 300 tons in tension
and compression.
Its design with either male or female threads at each end of
the
compact body make the load cell ideal for measuring tension
from 1 to 300 tons. The load cell will suit many applications
where load values are measured in the offshore, construction,
building and testing fields.

New Sound Level
Meter makes spot check
noise measurements quick and easy.
A new, easy-to-use, point and shoot sound level meter
designed specifically for spot check measurements
and surveys of environmental or workplace noise is
launched by international acoustic and vibration
specialist, Bruel & Kjaer.
The lightweight Type 2240 Integrating-averaging Sound Level
Meter provides an entry-level, hand-held instrument for reliably
checking simple sound levels, controlling noise levels in the
workplace or investigating complaints. Ideal for novices or
engineers simply in a hurry, the instrument requires no set up
procedures because the relevant parameters are always
measured simultaneously. The accurate instrument is ready
to measure as soon as the user presses start. The new meter's
measurement range is 30-140dB in two 80dB ranges and can
be easily selected with the simple to operate interface.

Panel mounting
6" LCD Colour Chart Recorder.
The VR18 is a panel mounted 6" LCD colour
chart recorder with alarms, maths functions
and MODBUS based serial communications.
Up to 6 I/O cards can be fitted in the rear of the unit consisting
of
isolated analogue input, digital input and relay output. Virtually
any
sensor can be connected to the analogue inputs including thermocouples,
PRT, mV, V, 4-20mA etc.
The VR18 stores data to a 16M Compact Flash memory card (supplied
with the VR18) at pre-set rates - 1, 2, 5, 10, 30, 60 or 120
seconds.
Other sizes of CF memory card can be fitted up to 128M. The VR18
can also display channel data in real time in various formats
on up to
6 different pages. This can be scrolling charts, bar charts,
numeric
display, or a combination of all in "Mixed mode". Recorded
data can
also be recalled and displayed in "History" mode.

Danfoss Pressure
Transmitters for all demands.
Danfoss pressure transmitters have proved to be a
sound choice for control and monitoring in an infinite
number of demanding marine and hydraulics applications
as well as in a wide range of industries.
Thanks to innovative design, the pressure transmitters are
accurate and reliable, even in environments with high pressure
peaks, vibration and temperature fluctuations.
With nominal pressure ranges exceed 600 bars and operating
temperatures from -40°C to 125°C, the transmitters are
extremely
robust. Moreover a wide range of electrical connections, pressure
connections and outputs ensure the flexibility required to meet
virtually any application demand.

It's a Vision
thing...
Building on the success of the Optidew Transmitter,
Michell Instruments has developed Optidew Vision,
a precision dewpointmeter with an LCD display panel.
The new Optidew Vision has been designed for the user who
needs the high accuracy, repeatability and stability of a cooled
mirror instrument coupled with value for money. Its bench-top
format with carry handle and optional panel-mounting kit,
combined with the convenient sensor probe design with
cable length up to 30 metres, means that Optidew Vision
can be used for a wide variety of applications. Calibration of
RH sensors or environmental test chambers and precise
humidity measurement in process environments such as
engine emissions testing are among the most important
applications.
