Bruel & Kjaer enhances UKAS calibration and
repair service for sound & vibration instruments.
International sound and vibration instrumentation
specialist, Bruel & Kjaer, is enhancing its UK Service
Centre in Stevenage, Hertfordshire to provide a number
of special calibration services.
The special services offered by Bruel & Kjaer's UK Service
Centre include:
Calibration at high temperatures - provides calibrations at
customer specified temperatures in the range - 60 to +265ºC
and the frequency range 20 to 630Hz.
Shock calibration - performs a shock calibration in the range
20 to 1000g and is traceable and fully documented.
Low frequency calibration -a LF calibration carried out under
the Centre's UKAS accreditation and operating in the 1 to 20Hz
range.
Calibration of transducers with TEDS - enables calibration data
for transducers with TEDS (Transducer Electronic Data Sheet)
to be updated with new sensitivity and calibration date information.
Bruel & Kjaer's UK Service Centre runs different UKAS accredited
calibration laboratories supporting a comprehensive range of
sound and vibration instrumentation including accelerometers,
sound level meters, microphones and artificial ears from various
suppliers including Bruel & Kjaer and ENDEVCO products.
A feature of the UK Service Centre is a Vibration Laboratory
equipped to calibrate accelerometers and associated signal
conditioning equipment. The UK Service Centre also runs an
Acoustic Laboratory that focuses on the acoustic calibration of
products such as sound level meters, microphones and artificial
ears.
The Centre's Calibration Certificate is in accordance with the
requirements of UKAS and EA (European Accreditation).
Fulfilling ISO requirements the Centre maintains and proves
traceability to NPL, PTB, DPLA and NIST as well as offering
compliance with standards and implementing customer defined
calibrations.
The UK Service Centre, which provide a world-class calibration
and repair service to match Bruel & Kjaer's world-class product
range, offers customers the following service capabilities: Priority
calibration and repair; primary accelerometer calibration; sound
level meters, microphones and instrumentation calibration; fixed
price repair and estimates; tailor-made service agreements as
well as the ability to calibrate third party accelerometers.
Bruel & Kjaer has been active in the calibration business for more
than 25 years and has become a centre of excellence in the
calibration of sound and vibration instrumentation. Customers
of the UK Service Centre also benefit from its close links with
the Bruel & Kjaer Service Centre in Naerum, Denmark that
supports the UK centre with its extensive technical expertise,
spare parts inventory and service facilities.
