16-Channel Ethernet or USB Measurement Systems for Sound and Vibration Analysis
Data Translation announces the VIBpoint series of measurement products for sound, vibration and sonar analysis. The new series comes as a complete solution with hardware and software. It includes USB and Ethernet instruments featuring 16 IEPE/ICP input channels with a dedicated 24-bit A/D converter for each channel and one tachometer input. The VIBpoint software application supports all VIBpoint measurement instruments and allows easy data acquisition, visualization and analysis with no programming required.
Depending on the model, sampling rates up to 52.7 or 105.4 kHz per channel with 24-bit resolution can be achieved. Sampling rate settings are finely adjustable in small increments. The analog input channels can be customized for the connected sensors. The 4mA current source for the IEPE sensor, AC or DC coupling and gains of 1 and 10 are all individually programmable per channel.
An optional 24-bit analog output is also available. It allows the continuous output of white noise, sine or any other stimulus waveform. The measurement solution supports simultaneous and synchronous analog input, tachometer input (31 bit) and analog output operations. The tachometer input can measure rotational speeds and high-resolution phase measurements between the tachometer input and the A/D samples. On Ethernet versions, all the I/O channels are galvanically isolated from each other.
The VIBpoint measurement systems are ready to measure right out of the box using the accompanying software application. The application provides all the key functionality for configuring the hardware, data acquisition and analysis. Many useful functions for sound and vibration analysis are also included, such as FFT (Fast Fourier Transform) modes and chart recorder.
