Drives & Control Exhibition - NEWS

Energy and Safety seminars sponsor announced

CompAir, part of the Gardner Denver compressor manufacturing group, has confirmed it will be sponsoring the new Energy and Safety seminar theatre at Air-Tech 2012 - which will form part of the co-location of events taking place at the NEC, Birmingham, between the 17-19 April 2012, including The Plant & Asset Management Exhibition, Drives & Controls Exhibition, and The International Fluid Power Exhibition (IFPEX).

The highlight of the seminar theatre will be themed panel discussions, chaired by the British Compressed Air Society (BCAS) and other key industry representatives, and will focus on key energy management topics including:

The use of control technology;
Compressed air use and energy consumption;
Compressor carbon footprint;
Energy saving through service and maintenance;
Plus much more.

Gardner Denver will also be exhibiting once again at Air-Tech, which this year will see it increase its presence considerably across four separate stands.

Colin Manger, UK Sales Director for CompAir explains the reasons for attending the show and why he believes it has become an industry must for any customer looking for new and innovative ways to improve compressed air performance.

"Air-Tech is now considered a key event in the compressed air industry calendar and the ideal venue to view the latest technological developments that can help improve plant efficiencies.

"The last show was really successful for us, with many customers looking for advice on the latest ways to improve environmental performance, increase productivity and find new ways to lower compressor cost of ownership.

"This year will see us showcasing technologies from all our compressor brands over four separate stands, including the launch of the brand new 22 to 30 kW range of CompAir variable speed compressors - the first time the new models will be exhibited in the UK.

"Our CompAir products are exhibited on two stands. The first is dedicated to lubricated-screw technologies and will include the new variable-speed range. The second stand is focused entirely on CompAir's oil-free product offering and includes the water-lubricated DH range of compressors and the groundbreaking Quantima unit.

"We are committed to improving performance and efficiency for our customers whilst helping them to lower their impact on the environment. As well as exhibiting our latest oil-free technologies, we'll also be featuring our new oil-free microsite.

"Called it showcases CompAir's complete range of innovative oil-free technology and provides practical advice on how manufacturers can reduce maintenance and costs."

"We'll also be exhibiting models from our Hydrovane range. Benefitting from proven rotary vane compression technology, products in this range provide a totally dependable and dry compressed air supply with minimal energy costs. In addition, the Reavell stand will focus on some of the latest solutions for manufacturers and processors requiring a quality and dependable source of high-pressure air.

"Energy concerns continue to influence capital investment and we are often asked how efficient a new compressor installation could be, how much energy it could save and the payback periods.

"Five or six years ago, compressor technologies such as variable speed drives or heat recovery weren't necessarily key requirements for capital investment. Now they are becoming the norm, with invertors and intelligent control systems continuing to feature high on the list of priorities.

"Efficiency and sustainability are therefore key drivers at the heart of industry today. Our aim is to provide compressed air solutions that help manufacturers to achieve cost efficient production and meet sustainability targets.

"Despite the tough economic climate, we are continuing to develop new and innovative technologies to help improve productivity and cost of ownership and Air-Tech provides the ideal platform to showcase these solutions to our customers."
