EIS - Instrumentation, Analysis & Testing Exhibition - NEWS

Instrumentation, Analysis and Testing Exhibition 2014

The annual exhibition will be held on 18 March 2014 in the Silverstone Wing, Silverstone Race Track. Parking and entrance to the exhibition is free and there are complimentary open forums running throughout the day:

* 3D Printed Components - use in Stress Analysis and as Structural Components
* Successes and Future Challenges in Vehicle Dynamics
* The Effect on Component Life and Performance of Manufacturing Induced Residual Strain
* Gearbox Noise and Life Monitoring.

Over 50 exhibitors will present the latest advances in measurement analysis and testing technology in aerospace, automotive, motor-sport, rail, off-highway, mechanical handling, industrial and power generation industries. Visitors will be able to discuss these developments and their applications in an informal atmosphere with exhibitors.

Registration for the exhibition is now open - please complete the attached form and email to the secretariat at eis2013@e-i-s.org.uk to secure your place.

We currently have only 4 remaining exhibitor tables. To reserve a stand please contact the secretariat, Sara Atkin, for further information on 01572 811315.

New Corporate Members
A warm welcome to our new Corporate Members - MTS Systems, THP Systems, NPrime and Micro-Epsilon.

Hydraulics in Testing
The seminar, run in September at Star Hydraulics in Tewkesbury, was extremely well-received by the 35 delegates who attended. The event was over-subscribed and we are considering running a follow-up event in 2014. If this is an area that is relevant to you please contact our secretariat to register your interest.

2014 Seminars
We are currently planning a number of seminars for 2014 including: Measurement Techniques, Basic Fatigue and Fundamentals of Sound Quality. Further details will follow in early 2014.

Journal
The next issue of our journal, Engineering Integrity, will be published in February 2014. For advertising or submitting papers please contact Catherine Pinder: catherine@cpinder.com

EIS Brochure
We have produced a new EIS brochure providing details of the Society, the technical groups and the activities we undertake. If you have contacts who would like to know more about how the EIS can support industry and individual engineers, please email the secretariat who can arrange for a copy to be sent to them. (eis2013@e-i-s.org.uk).

Advanced Engineering 2013
The EIS attended the Advanced Engineering Exhibition at the NEC on 12 and 13 November. It was a good opportunity to meet with existing corporate and personal members as well as talk to new companies and visitors about the work of the EIS. In support of the technical programme a presentation entitled 'Smarter Testing' was made by EIS committee members. As part of the event we ran a competition to win a bottle of champagne. Congratulations to the winner Kurtis Bell of ACSCM.

EIS Committees
The EIS holds committee meetings three times a year. The Society is always interested in new members joining any of the groups (Durability & Fatigue Group, Simulation, Test & Measurement Group and Sound & Vibration Product Perception Group). If you would like further details please contact the Secretariat on 01572 811315 or email eis2013@e-i-s.org.uk. The next meeting will be held on Tuesday 11 February 2014, venue TBA.
