Finalists in Awards.
Expert Monitoring who manufacture an innovative
Bluetooth Wireless Sensor Networking product are
finalist in the 2004 DTI National Measurement Awards
for Industry.
Lord Sainsbury (Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for
Science and Innovation) and his DTI judging team met with
Dr Ken Gale of Expert Monitoring on Monday 20th September
at a ministerial networking event to perform judging on the last
five finalists from over 200 competition entries. This years
winner will be announced on 22nd November 04 at the Award
Ceremony at the National Physic laboratory.
This new product branded WiSNet - Wireless Sensor Network
which has a Plug and Go sensor interface has already made
a huge impact in the electricity utility, manufacturing, energy
saving and steel making markets.
A typical WiSNet system consist of an IP65 Ethernet Network
Controller and sensor Transmitter Modules that facilitates
ad-hock wireless sensor networks to enable sensors to be
positioned anywhere inside or outside of any manufacturing
plant. This complete product solution comes with a FREE
software interface to facilitate automatic data viewing, data
storage, data publishing and historical viewing over any
Ethernet LAN/WAN.
The individual WiSNet wireless Transmitter Modules are
positioned plant wide where each module powers any four
sensors including accelerometers, temperature probes, power
meters, bearing condition probes and tank level sensors. Its
unique design results in installation cost saving of between
50-70% where the installation now takes minutes rather than
days.
The WiSNet product utilizes a new long range (1.2 km LOS)
Bluetooth digital radio interface which is plug and play that
makes this wireless product immune to both electromagnetic
and radio interference.
Production volumes are set to expand and look forward to
ATEX versions in early 2005.
