Premier Farnell Partners with MegaPower to Supply Worlds First USB Solder

London Premier Farnell has announced it will stock the world’s first USB powered soldering iron by MegaPower.

The soldering iron, which is designed for quick repairs in the field and the lab for fine pitch SMT components, is powered by the USB port of a PC or laptop or alternatively with a 9v battery.

The iron achieves 480°C in 20 seconds and has an extremely low power consumption (5W instead of 40W with comparable tools).

The iron costs £9.90 and has the following features:

* Professional grade soldering tip

* Ultra bright white LED light illuminates working area

* Handy and portable

* Safety on/off switch

* Energy efficient and low cost

* Protective cap
