Latest software makes data acquisition more convenient

HBM has launched version 3.2 of its catman®AP software. The software features numerous new functions to simplify the setting up, acquisition, display and analysis of measured values from HBM amplifier systems without needing any programming.

The software will automatically suggest suitable sensor types when setting up a measurement channel. The latest catman®AP software supports HBM’s new espressoDAQ measurement technology hardware along with the latest QuantumX system modules. Two new export formats for saving data in MATLAB and RPC III format have also been included.

Another feature is the ability to synchronize distributed systems via NTP time stamping. This means that spatially distributed QuantumX modules and even hybrid systems – in particular the standard amplifier systems QuantumX and MGCplus – can easily be synchronized.

In NTP synchronization, the devices are connected in a star configuration via normal Ethernet network cables and synchronized via a so-called NTP server. NTP synchronization can always be used where synchronization via hardware (sync-cable) is not possible and where a synchronicity of approx. 1 ms is sufficient.
