Impress Sensors to showcase new digital pressure transmitters and multi-channel controllers at Sensing Technology 2012
Visitors to stand D4 at the Sensing Technology 2012 exhibition (25-26 September 2012) at the NEC, will have the opportunity to view a range of new instrumentation from Impress Sensors & Systems Ltd. These include an extended range of digital pressure transmitters, multi-channel process controllers with Modbus connectivity, as well as a new digital pressure & temperature transmitter with new USB interface module.
Manufactured in the UK, the IMP series of industrial pressure transmitters is now available with a digital RS485 interface and Modbus RTU output. These piezoresistive pressure transmitters have a stainless steel housing and provide excellent media compatibility, making it suitable for a wide range of applications in hydraulics, pneumatics, agricultural machinery, laboratory testing, pumps and compressors, HVAC systems, tank gauging and automotive testing. Every transmitter is temperature-compensated and calibrated. The electronics incorporate a microprocessor-based amplifier, with pressure and temperature measurement made possible by RS485 Modbus RTU serial communication. Impress provides a standard software package, which enables the user to re-range, calibrate and adjust some parameters of the device. There is also a facility to data log via the software, which is useful for checking installation and behaviours of the application. Nominal pressures are from 0.5bar up to 700bar.
The new digital IMP series with Modbus interface enables these pressure transmitters to connect to Impress Sensors' range of digital process meters and multi-channel controllers. The CMC-99 and CMC-141 multi-channel process controllers, for example, now come with Modbus interface as standard. This compact controller has a touch-screen display, which is ideal for the simultaneous measurement and control in many process manufacturing applications. These controllers are suitable for a wide range of process applications, including centralised temperature measurement and control; multi-zone heating control; intermediate pumping station control; spraying and heating control for greenhouses; control of industrial furnaces and incinerators; and for engine test cell measurements.
In addition, the CMC-141 multi-channel controller, the 'big brother' of the CMC-99, provides all the same functionality and features, but also offers a larger 5.7-inch (320 x 240 pixels) backlit display, more inputs/outputs (up to 72) and new types of logic channels.
Also on the stand will be Impress' new IMP-T series of dual pressure & temperature sensors. Housed in an aluminium enclosure, these compact devices typically measure just 80 x 80 x 50mm, and provide outputs for pressure and temperature via the SD-12 digital interface. Together, this sensor provides atmospheric pressures and temperatures typically used for atmospheric condition monitoring.
Via its USB interface, the IMP-T series can be connected to Impress' new ComBox module - which not only powers the IMP-T device, but also enables connection to a PC or laptop, allowing the user to view, configure and data log the output using Impress' own proprietary software. Up to 9 sensors can be connected to the ComBox. The software comes free-of-charge when purchasing the ComBox.
A range of other sensors and instrumentation products will be on show, including a range of battery-operated pressures gauges and data loggers.
