NEW ULTRA SMALL TWO AXIS MAGNETORESISTIVE
SENSOR ON SINGLE SILICON DIE
Inertial Aerosystems announces the availability of a new ultra small
two axis magnetoresistive sensor on a single silicon chip manufactured
by U.S. based Honeywell Solid State Electronics Centre.
Designed for compassing and position sensing applications that
require ultra small size, low power and high performance, this patented
design provides near perfect orthogonal sensing in two axes.
Designated the HMC 1052, this sensor has a sensitivity of 1mV/V/Gauss
with a wide field range of +/-6 gauss and can operate on a supply voltage
as low as 1.8v. This tiny package is housed in a 3mm x 3mm x 1mm 10 pin
miniature surface mount package. Patented on-chip set/reset straps
eliminate the effects of temperature drift and stray magnetic fields.
This device is ideal for applications where space and weight is at a
premium, such as mobile phones, walkie talkies, watches and GPS
receivers etc.
