New range of Chip Size Digital Compass modules.
Inertial Aerosystems, part of the ETL Group of
companies, announce a new, low cost, digital
compass incorporated in a 6.5mm square LCC chip.
Model HMC6353 contains a dual axis magnetoresistive sensor
plus all the analogue and digital circuitry for an electronic compass
function.
Combining the complete hardware and software solution in one
component alleviates product designers from the need to develop
compassing algorithms and user calibration routines and quickens
time to market.
Manufactured by US based Honeywell, the compass operates
from 2.7 to 5.2 volts with compass heading via a two wire I²C
serial bus interface.
This small size, low power, integrated compass is designed for
low cost, high volume applications including wireless handsets,
sport watches, GPS receivers, PDA’s and Telematics.
