Calibrator doubles as a thermometer.
The KAL Series Calibration Verifier, from Kalestead,
is a high resolution, hand-held temperature simulator
that enables the calibration accuracy of a temperature
instrument to be checked, yet can also operate as a
stand-alone digital thermometer.
The device is available in five models, which covers a temperature
range from -100 to +1200ºC. Each instrument is capable of a dual role,
when it is set to Read mode, it operates as a conventional
thermometer using Types K or T thermocouples or PT100 sensors.
When set to CAL, it is coupled directly to the probe input of the
instrument under test. The displays of both are then monitored
while the simulated temperature is manually swept through its
entire operating range. In both modes, operational accuracy
mirrors that of the sensor used.
