Strain Sensors for indirect force measurement.
The HighSens, type 9232A, is the latest addition to Kistler's
range of strain sensors for indirect force measurement.
Ideal for achieving a higher quality in manufacturing, these sensors
can be retrofitted on fast running machinery like mechanical presses,
automatic assembly machines and machine tools.
Due to the sensor's high sensitivity, process monitoring is capable
even where the forces involved are very small.
As the sensor is acceleration compensated, mounting on moving
machinery such as piston rods and stamping dies is possible.
The sensor is easy to fit as it is mounted using only one fastening
screw. It must be aligned in the direction of the largest anticipated
strain.
The advantages over the wire strain gauge technology strain sensors
are the high sensitivity, large overload capability and practically
unlimited life even under fluctuating loads.
