Launch of first Kistler PiezoSmartä
Pressure Sensors with DaimlerChrysler
The very first pressure sensors with automatic sensor
identification had been handed over to DaimlerChrysler
on June 4, 2003 at TestingExpo in Stuttgart.
The system, called PiezoSmart, is developed and manufactured by
Kistler Instruments and installation took place in Motorenhaus 3 of
DaimlerChrysler AG, Stuttgart Untertürkheim.
Based on the internationally recognized and proved standard
IEEE 1451.4, PiezoSmart not only enhances the reliability of test
bed procedures, it markedly improves quality of combustion
analysis data too. What's more, the system shortens test run
set-up and preparation times. By choosing PiezoSmart, Daimler
Chrysler is operating a state-of-the-art system for significantly
reducing costs and greatly improving productivity in engine
development.
