If space is a problem - Temposonics® EH for small cylinders

MTS has revised the complete product family of Temposonics® E series sensors and integrated the latest developments in the field of magnetostriction. A particularly suitable model for direct stroke measurement in hydraulic cylinders with small bore diameters is the new Temposonics® EH. It is presently the smallest series-produced magnetostrictive sensor type for absolute, contactless position measurement in industrial applications.

With a length of only 48 mm, a diameter of 34 mm and an optional 7 or 10 mm measuring tube, this model is the sensor of choice if the space conditions are limited. The new, hermetically sealed stainless steel housing prevents corrosion, and protection mode IP69K makes it absolutely dust and waterproof. The EH sensor measuring lengths range from 50 to 2500 mm (analog output) or 3000 mm (start/stop output). Small position magnets adequate for the EH version are also available.

Uncomplex measuring tasks in applications where the price matters are performed by the EH sensor with high-accuracy position feedback - thus ensuring a virtually infinite resolution using the analog output and a resolution of 0.005 mm using the start/stop output depending on the control system. Its repeatability is < + 0.001 % F.S. with a linearity error < + 0.02 % F.S. Due to progresses in the field of waveguide technology and optimized electronics, the EH sensor is extremely insensitive to interference .

The space-saving Temposonics® EH, with its factory-calibrated set-points, can be integrated into the cylinder easily. A low-cost solution is the connection to pre-fabricated cables using an M12 connector. Re-calibration of the EH version is not necessary during the entire sensor lifetime.
