Sensor prevents any crosstalk
The latest LM1O series laser sensor, from Matsushita Electric Works,
which features crosstalk prevention, allows two sensors to be
mounted in close proximity to each other without interference.
Conforming to IEC standards for class 1 or 2 laser safety, the LM10
series includes a long distance type with a measuring range of up to
400mm. In addition to the conventional analogue output, the series
also comes with on/off control output (single or window comparator)
as a standard function. This gives the LM10 the operaton of a
photoelectric sensor while continuing to offer a resolution to 1µm.
By integrating the sensors' amplification circuitry in the LM10's head,
the company has enabled the laser heads to become controller
independent. In this way, nine sensor heads and eight controllers can
be freely combined to meet the requirements of a variety of applications.
The LM10 suits a number of high-precision sensing applications
which include inspection of tyre groove depth, PC board assembly
and continuous thickness monitoring.
