New application-focused precision
measurement website for engineers.
The most comprehensive website for precision sensing
and measurement solutions
Micro-Epsilon, manufacturer of precision sensing and measurement
solutions, has re-launched its website (www.micro-epsilon.co.uk) with
a host of new functionality and technical information, plus a new
application-focused structure that makes it easier for engineers to locate
the sensor or measurement solution they require. The website is targeted
at design engineers, production engineers, quality and inspection
engineers, scientists, lab technicians and plant/maintenance engineers.
The site is now application-led rather than product-led. Rather than
placing lists of different sensor products in front of engineers, the new
site encourages users to look for solutions to their specific application
problem.
The applications area of the site contains sensor systems for bending,
concentricity, diameter, dimension, displacement, positioning, oscillation,
gap, revolution, stroke and thickness measurement. Actual examples of
applications in each of these areas is provided, along with the relevant
technical data sheet and application diagrams.
Details of specific customer applications are provided on the site.
Examples include monitoring the vacuum integrity of cans, jars and
bottles; turbocharger speed sensing; monitoring of the commutators
in electric motors; thickness measurement of yarn, rubber film, foils
and battery separators; flatness measurement in rolling mills; oil film
thickness measurement in internal combustion engines; calibrating
robot axes; measuring clutch wear in racing cars; active damping of
liquid-cooled centrifuges; lift height measurement in forklift trucks;
monitoring the clamping of tools; and the measurement of axial
deformation of brake disc friction rings.
