Micro-Epsilon UK Ltd. - PRODUCT NEWS
Compact inductive displacement sensors for high temperatures.
In its new 52-page catalogue, precision sensor manufacturer Micro-Epsilon offers the widest range of inductive displacement sensors available, with around 250 different standard sensor types.
These sensors cover measurement ranges from 0.5 to 630mm. Various inductive measuring principles are used for these sensors. As well as a diverse standard range, application-specific models and custom OEM sensors are also included.
The range of drive circuit electronics covers variants from an integrated controller, through to versions with die cast aluminium housings and ASIC versions for OEM production. The catalogue provides information about the function of the individual measuring principles and technologies, terms and definitions, application examples and specific technical data on individual sensor models.
With this sensor range, Micro-Epsilon also provides extensive coverage of 'contact' displacement measurement. In the field of non-contact displacement and distance measurement, Micro-Epsilon has been one of the leading international suppliers for many years.
A recent innovation amongst the linear inductive displacement sensor range is the compact 'LDR Series'. These have a housing diameter of just 8mm. In comparison to conventional LVDT sensors, the installation length is significantly less due to a new coil geometry.
The high quality materials and rugged design enable the sensor to be used up to an operating temperature of 160°C. The sensor linearity is typically ±0.25%. Measurement ranges from 10 to 50mm are currently available. Due to the symmetrical construction, a temperature stability of <40ppm/°C is obtained at the zero point. A single-channel electronic unit with a rugged die cast housing is used as the sensor controller. The sensor is supplied with 18 to 30V and analogue outputs of 4 to 20mA or 2 to 10V. The zero point and gain can be customer set over a wide range using trimming potentiometers.
The LDR Series can be provided with either an axial plug connection or with an axially fitted cable. The sensors are ideal for large-scale production applications in industrial environments, where space is restricted.
