     New 'Designer Friendly' SLS320 Sensor

Following the successful launch of the SLS190,
Penny & Giles Controls have introduced the second
of their new generation of Sealed Linear Sensors.

The new SLS320, which extends the range of stroke lengths to 1100mm,
is claimed by the company to be a match for any competitive potentiometer
product in the world.

The SLS320 is a completely new design, engineered with fewer components
to enable volume production of competitively priced OEM quantities on
very short delivery. It is interchangeable with the company's existing HLP350
sensor, but offers much improved performance at a lower cost.

To enable the new sensor to be easily designed into existing and new
equipment, it is supplied with an integrally moulded industry standard
connector that will mate with most proprietory sensor cables.
The SLS320 also has a shorter body-to-stroke length to allow installation
in smaller applications and a reduction in weight that makes it ideal for
mobile vehicle applications.

Features such as IP66 sealing and extended cable lengths that were
optional on the HLP350 are now standard, and configurable options
are available for despatch within days rather than weeks.

Other benefits of the new CE approved design include a mechanical
stroke 5mm longer than the electrical stroke that simplifies set-up;
a rotatable shaft that reduces installation time, and an optional right-angled
cabled socket (available in one metre or 10 metres lengths) with a
PUR jacket that provides greater durability, flexibility and resistance
to oil and chemicals.
