The Summer 2003 issue of 'Transducer Action' - the regular
newsletter from RDP Electronics - is now available direct
from RDP.
Published for the benefit of design and research engineers,
specifiers and students, 'Transducer Action' combines
application features with in-depth transducer information
and the latest developments from RDP, including information
on RDP’s website at www.rdpe.com.
In this issue, you’ll see an example of a low-cost strain
measurement system based on RDP’s 600 series multi-channel
data acquisition and freeware for a PC to display and analyse
the data; a practical application for RDP’s new submersible
displacement transducers and a new section “Did you know that?”
with helpful tips from RDP’s technical team.
Established users of RDP products, B.K. Automation of Southampton,
open their doors to describe a recent application for RDP LVDTs
and amplifiers in a pipe assembly machine they were commissioned
to build for a client. The machine produces five variants of
high-pressure pipe used for turbo chargers in the automotive
industry and RDP’s solution ensures repeatable quality during
assembly.
Continuing a regular educational theme in this issue,
'Understanding Accuracy’ explores the implications of
temperature coefficients, and there is also an update of
