Strainstall Introduce New Vessel Motion Monitoring System Strainstall Marine has recently introduced a new monitoring system to measure the motion of wind turbine transfer boats while travelling from shore to the wind farm and whilst transferring personnel to the turbines. Vessel motion is the principle factor effecting safety and limiting operations, and an accurate motion monitoring system can increase the operational window considerably during these critical operations by allowing the user to monitor all motion parameters, rather than relying on significant wave height as the main limiting factor. A basic system includes one or two motion sensors and software that measures, calculates and displays the motion parameters essential for the Master to make appropriate and informed decisions.
