New Series of Miniature Triaxial Accelerometers
A new series of triaxial accelerometers is now available
in a variety of sizes and sensitivities from PCB Piezotronics.
These sensors will simultaneously measure vibration or shock in
three orthogonal directions, having three independent sensing
elements oriented for response to motion along the x, y and z axes.
A wide choice of 16 different models are offered to suit a variety
of applications including engine and NVH studies, modal analysis,
road response tests, vehicle, flight and packaging testing. Designed
to be particularly small in size and with low profiles, the triaxial
accelerometers suit testing situations where high frequency response,
minimised mass loading and space restrictions apply.
The sensors are constructed in precision-machined metallic housings
and have built-in microelectronic signal conditioning circuitry to provide
clean, low-impedance voltage output signals (ICP) capable of being
transmitted over long cable lengths.
Measuring ranges from ±5 to ±500g peak are available, with overload
protection up to ±5000g peak and a frequency range of 0.4 to 5000 Hz.,
dependent on chosen model. They will operate over a temperature range
of -53 to 121 Deg.C and have a transverse sensitivity of less than 5%.
Multi-channel signal conditioners are also available for powering the
accelerometers and interfacing their measurement signals to readout,
recording and analysis instrumentation.
