ESS based in Birmingham is a thriving and progressive electrical and air conditioning contractor just celebrating their 10th anniversary and noted for covering both the domestic and industrial sectors and are always looking to take the next step in terms of quality work and customer satisfaction. The recent purchase of two key items of Testo technology has certainly underwritten the ESS ethos.

The air conditioning division has especially taken advantage of the Testo 570 Digital Refrigerant Manifold and also the Testo 417 Large Area Vane Anemometer.

Mike Plant of ESS takes up the success story "We learned about the 570 from Steve Fisher at the Red Dragon air conditioning specialist centre in Wales and he was excellent as regards guidance and training. The product is absolutely brilliant and we can't fault it when it comes to quick and easy checking of pressure and temperature and it is very reassuring for all concerned in every aspect of health and safety and checking the proper values involved. It's a big leap in technology and convenience for example with the means to fit three probes, trustworthy software print- outs and the plug in scale and charging facility. And given the constant media attention to our profession and its standards it is especially reassuring to customers that the Testo product looks good and professional in our hands. This aspect is especially evident by virtue of the smart protective Testo case which comes complete with all necessary accessories including the software and USB cable, batteries, pliers probes and calibration protocol.

For ESS the Testo Anemometer gives them crucial compliance with the Building F-Regulations regarding controlled quality air circulation and as Mike observes" We couldn't be without it to measure and check all aspects of air flow, volume and temperature and getting the balance and humidity right. The instant maximum and minimum values are a bonus as are the means to freeze readings at the touch of a button and the clear backlit display. Like all things Testo it was thoughtfully designed for its purpose and it is simple to handle. Again it's a very robust product and gives us much more capability and as with the Manifold system it means we can offer more and fit more jobs in. Overall we are proud of the level of our qualifications and what we do and our geographic scope and reputation are increasing all the time".
