Test, Measurement and Inspection takes centre stage at ‘Advanced Engineering UK’ group of events

Bringing together multiple high value engineering and technology streams, this year’s Advanced Engineering UK group of events, one of the fastest growing engineering and technology events in Europe, is preparing for record attendance for its biggest ever ‘test, measurement and inspection’ programme.

Building on record attendances in 2011, the 2012 event line-up assembles, under one giant roof, four individually focused yet highly synergetic trade shows targeted at key ‘high value’ engineering and technology sectors: Aero Engineering 2012, The Composites Engineering Show 2012, UK Plastic Electronics Show 2012 and ‘new for 2012’ Automotive Engineering 2012 – supporting the UK’s resurgent and dynamic vehicle engineering sector. The 2012 group of co-locating shows brings together 450+ UK and international exhibitors as one integrated experience, supported by 140+ free-to-attend presentations over the two days, and with an anticipated attendance of 8,000-10,000.

‘Test, measurement and inspection’ again takes a leading role in the 2012 group of events with a dedicated TESTING MEASUREMENT & INSPECTION Focus Stream showcasing, across the interconnected show floor, 100+ ‘test’ related exhibitors in Testing, Evaluation, Simulation, Analysis, Measurement, Certification, Compliance, Qualification, Quality, Inspection and Monitoring, together with technical presentations over the two day event, supported by key bodies including The Charted Quality Institute (CQI), British Institute of Non Destructive Testing (BINDT), Quality Manufacturing Today (QMT), MIRA and Millbrook.

Leading names to be found throughout the combined 2012 show floor include: Hexagon Metrology, Olympus Industrial, Westmoreland Mechanical Testing & Research, Instron, TUV SUD Product Service, Phase Vision, BAE Systems, HBM, Mecmesin, Zwick Testing Machines, MIRA, Renishaw, Dantec Dynamics, UKQMS and a long list of other leading international technology, equipment and specialist capability suppliers.

Commenting on this key stream of the event, show organizer Ian Stone states; “The disciplines of testing, measurement and inspection’ are inextricably linked to the advanced engineering environment and it is no surprise that growing numbers of leading domestic and international suppliers of technology and service capability in this sector see this as a ‘must attend’ event. From simulation, virtual analysis and testing through all forms of development, pre-production testing and qualification, to production line metrology, quality management and onto aftermarket inspection, the show floor provides an abundance of the latest state of the art technologies and industry partners”

The technology, equipment and specialist test capabilities on display this year cover a broad range of application areas, including virtual testing simulation, and analysis in the areas of Vibration and Acoustic testing; Biomechanics; Fluid Dynamics and Solid Mechanics; Computational Electromagnetics; Advanced Materials Analysis; Systems Engineering; EMC and more – applied from design concept stage through to final-stage testing and validation, and beyond.

In the physical test and evaluation sector, representation includes Structural and Fatigue testing; Wind Tunnel testing; Human Factors testing; EMC testing; Software testing; Engine testing; Sensors and Transducers; Data Acquisition and Analysis; Data Visualisation; Materials and Composites testing; Power testing; Environmental and durability testing; Brake and Powertrain; Emissions testing; Lighting strike testing; Safety testing; Impact and crash testing; Optical measurement; Strain and Deformation; Pressure measurement; Non –destructive testing; Coating thickness; Mechanical testing; Dynamic testing and much more.

Quality Inspection capability is additionally represented in all areas of NDT/NDE; Visual Inspection; Quality management; Dimensional Metrology; Gauging and Inspection; Vision Systems; Alignment; Metrology Software; Coordinate Measuring Machines; Non-Contact Measuring Machines; Inspection Equipment; Large Volume Metrology and Thermal Imaging, to cite just a few.
