Towcester UK January 2010: Variohm EuroSensor has launched a new programmable 4-digit instrument display panel with multifunction input configuration for use across its wide range of sensor technologies.
The competitively priced and versatile OM402 from Orbit Merret has a large display capability with a built-in choice of a six character LED display at 14 mm height or four character display at 20 mm height; with the possibility to program the last two characters to show the measured quantity. The DIN rail mounted unit has three integral colour options and can be matched to a variety of selectable input types including DC voltage and current, resistance, dedicated thermometer types and linear potentiometers. Configuration and operational parameters are set and adjusted via five front panel control keys with all functions password protected if required.
Options include 5-24 VDC output to power sensors and transducers, comparators to monitor limit values with relay outputs, data and fieldbus interfaces, analog outputs and time controlled data recording functions.
The full featured OM402 is based upon an 8-bit microcontroller is able to display fixed or adjustable measurement ranges with limit values if required. Compensation for thermocouple applications is also included along with powerful maths functions including Tare and peak value which are all adjustable through external control. The compact unit has a size of DIN 96 x 48 mm.
The OM402 is just one of several Orbit Merret panel and din rail mounted displays available from Variohm EuroSensor. The complete range covers simple to comprehensive measurement display and includes universal input as well as single dedicated input versions with manual or computer programmed functions and industrial network interfaces. Display options include digital, bargraph and large screen instruments with a complete range of options and accessories.
