New pressure transducer has CANopen interface
Variohm EuroSensor expands its wide range of pressure transducers with the introduction the new CANopen enabled SMC series for high accuracy measurement up to 2000 bar in a compact and robust IP67 rated stainless steel design based on the 22 mm hexagonal industry standard. The CANopen protocol ensures straightforward industry standard commissioning with interfacing to CAN 2.0A or optionally CAN 2.0B, and the 1Mbit/s data rate ensures fast update pressure measurement.
The economically priced SMC series is available in over twenty standard measurement range with generous overload and burst pressure ratings that ensure maximum safety. With a media temperature range from -40 ºC to +125 ºC and temperature coefficient compensation between -20 and +85 C, the overall measurement accuracy is within 0.05% and repeatability better than 0.1%.
The fully welded stainless steel casing uses an encapsulated thin-film sensor technology that does not rely upon a transmitting media and, as a 'dry' measuring cell, is suited to applications where leakage would be problematical.
With a shock rating of 1000 g and vibration to 20 g, the highly durable transducer can be used for gas and liquid pressure measurement for hydraulics and pneumatics as well as general industrial uses in air conditioning, environmental engineering, agriculture, automotive, process control and many more.
The SMC series is supplied in 2 and 3 wire connector versions for M12, M5 and integrated Y-piece, with pressure connections available in G¼ A&B, G½ B and ¼ NPT. Customisation of accuracy rating, pressure connections and connecting options are available on request.
