Hazardous Area Pressure Transmitters to ATEX100a.
From July 1st 2003 a new Ex guideline - ATEX 100a
will exclusively govern the requirements for instruments
and protective systems within explosive hazardous areas.
All of WIKAs intrinsically-safe pressure transmitters are already
certified in accordance with ATEX 100a. With pressure ranges
from 20mbar to 4,000bar, options encompass standard and
flush-diaphragm versions (IS-10 and IS-11) and a submersible
pressure transmitter (IL-10). Their latest programmable
intrinsically-safe UniTrans pressure transmitters (IUT-10 & IUT-11)
are available with HART and Profibus PA outputs.
Using instruments that already comply with the new regulation
ATEX 100a ensures continuing overall acceptance and approval
for plants while avoiding possible problems in procuring spares
compliant with ATEX 100a in the future. Due to their approval
in accordance with ATEX 100a, WIKA's pressure transmitter
range represents a reliable and flexible solution for the future.
Even the most stringent approval (Eex ia IC T6) is met, and the
new transmitters are also suitable for connection to Zone 0.
