Resonant Inductive technology
is for non-contact linear and rotary position measurement. The
underlying operating principle is like an LVDT or RVDT, except
the sensor is manufactured on conventional PCBs for low cost
and reliability. The sensor PCB measures the position of a moving
target with a resonant circuit inside. CambridgeIC develops and
sells processing ICs that report absolute position at up to 16
bits of noise free resolution. Standard sensors are available
including linear, rotary and through-shaft configurations in
a variety of measuring lengths and sizes. more info >>
