Competitively priced harsh-environment linear position measurement: Heavy duty, inductive linear position sensor range offers long-life and maximum reliability
The ILT series linear position sensors from Variohm EuroSensors sister company Ixthus Instrumentation are a cost-effective choice for precision linear measurement tasks in harsh duty areas such as construction and agricultural machinery, and heavy-duty industrial plant.
The durable and robust IP67/69K rated sensor has an independent linearity specification of +/- 0.25% (FSO at 20° C) and is supplied in a choice of eleven stroke lengths from 25 mm to 600 mm. The ILTs non-contacting inductive sensor technology measurement principle offers long-life and maximum reliability with MTBF rated at 360,000 hrs. A 35 mm diameter anodised aluminium housing provides maximum protection for the sensor electronics with vibration and shock ratings specifications of 10 g and 40 g respectively (IEC-68-2-6 and IEC-68-2-29).
The mechanical and electrical options built into ILT series make selection and installation straightforward. Standard mounting options for the rod-style sensor includes optional steel or plastic 8 mm diameter rod ends, alternatively M8 female threads at both ends may be specified. A choice of four standard electrical output/input options include 0.5 4.5 VDC from a 24 VDC input as well as 0.5 4.5 V ratiometric from a nominal +5 VDC.
Other options are 2- and 3-wire options for 4 20mA output from a 24 VDC input. The extended operational temperature range for the 2-metre screened cable interfaced option, available across the ILT series, is -40 to +100°C with the ratiometric version offering an extended upper limit to 125°C.
Alternatively an M12 connector version is available with temperature range limited to -40°C to +85°C and an overall environmental sealing rating derated to IP67.
Ixthus works closely with leading global suppliers of non-contact sensing technologies as well as force, torque and vibration sensor and transducer manufacturers, providing a complete service with its knowledgeable technical staff available to solve customers' measurement problems - from the first enquiry to complete after-sales support.
