Economical position sensing from RDP Electronics. Rugged, industrial EP Series magnetostrictive sensor, available from RDP Electronics Ltd, offers machine builders an ideal, low cost solution for measuring and controlling linear positions in an automated system. Utilising the well-proven MTS magnetostrictive ‘absolute’ principle, the EP Series provides a linearity of 0.02% to a repeatability of 0.001%. Measuring ranges are available up to 2200 mm with analogue outputs of 4-20 mA, or 0-10 V. The sensing magnet, which identifies the system position, can be supplied in various styles to assist the design engineer with attachment to the part to be controlled.
