Next Generation High-Resolution Magnetic Angle Sensing Utilizing TMR Technology

High reliability and functionality under harsh operating conditions, easy implementation and compactness - these are just the key performance features of conventional magnetic position sensor technology.

For end-of-shaft applications, Hall sensors are therefore particularly popular for low to medium position resolutions. For the highest resolution and precision requirements, the use of XMR technology can enable real breakthroughs: by using the tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR effect), performance can be increased, at least if potential weaknesses compared to Hall technology are recognized and addressed.

In this live webinar, Joachim Quasdorf and Patrick Stahl, experts in magnetic encoders and microsystems at iC-Haus, will present the differences between XMR and Hall angle sensors using end-of-shaft applications as an example. In a live demo, the speakers will demonstrate the technical capabilities of the new iC-TW39 on-axis angle sensor.

This new TMR-based design from iC-Haus is developed for end-of-shaft applications and provides quadrature signals for incremental encoders or absolute angle data. Due to a fully automatic dynamic error correction, the device delivers the maximum performance over the entire product lifetime.
